چکیده
Background: Wound infection gaining utmost importance day by because of emergence drug resistant bacteria. Objective: This study was carried out to see the pattern aerobic bacterial pathogens along with MRSA and ESBL producing strains causing wound infection. Methodology: cross sectional conducted from May 2010 April 2011. swabs were taken patients suffering infections admitted in different surgical wards Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, Rajshahi, Bangladesh. The place department Microbiology College, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery Gynaecology & Obstetrics Rajshahi. Two samples collected each patient with, one for microscopy other culture. Gram staining culture swab done isolation identification Bacteria. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing isolates performed using modified Kirby-Bauer technique Mueller-Hinton agar commercially available antimicrobial discs manufactured Oxoid Diagnostic. Results: A total 300 collected. Culture yielded growth 175(58.33%) cases, which 138 (78.86%) gram negative. From negative bacteria 52(37.68%) positive they distributed as K. pneumoniae 05(55.56%), E. coli 35(54.68%), Pr. mirabilis 05(20.83%) Ps. aeruginosa 05(17.00%). All producers 100.0% against ampicillin, cotrimoxazole, ceftriaxone ceftazidime. Ciprofloxacin 80.0 88.6%, gentamicin 40.0 60.0%, aztreonam 60.0 netilmycin 20.0 60% resistant. co-trimoxazole cloxacillin. None showed resistance vancomycin. Conclusion: Drug are quite high among isolated most agent. Bangladesh Journal Infectious Diseases, June 2022;9(1):15-24

BACKGROUND Phage typing had been utilised extensively to characterise methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) outbreak strains in the past. It is an invaluable tool even today to monitor emergence and dissemination of MRSA strains. AIMS The aim of this study was to determine the prevalent phage types of MRSA in south India and the association between phage types, antibiotic resista...

INTRODUCTION Although there has been a worldwide emergence and spread of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), little is known about the molecular epidemiology of MRSA in Tanzania. METHODOLOGY In this study, we characterized MRSA strains isolated from clinical specimens at the Bugando Medical Centre, Tanzania, between January and December 2008. Of 160 S. aureus isolates from 600...

To find out the prevalence of Staphylococcus aureus nosocomial infection and methicillin resistant S. aureus (MRSA), clinical samples from nosocomially infected patients were processed by following standard methodology in microbiology laboratory, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu, Nepal. Of 149 S. aureus isolates, skin infection isolates contributed a major part 72.5% making nos...
